I didn't really want to rake up all that dead grass so the sod from around the trees would be able to take root but, I did and it took about an hour.

Next I started cutting out the sod with my turf cutter and with this ultra thick St Augustine, it was worth it's weight in gold.
Once the sections were cut, I used a sharpshooter to get them up.
