10SEP08 - With Hurricane Ike headed in our direction, I decided it was time to get another item off my long-term ToDo list..namely, some additional fuel tanks for the generator. These are standard marine aux tanks for outboards and they're 12gal each. So, with the 4 gallons in the generator tank the extra 24 gallons in aux tanks, I figure I can probably run continuously for a couple days if necessary. The plan though is to run off one aux tank at a time until it gets low then switch to the other allowing me to refill them away from the generator itself and still keep it running.
