This is the outdoor shower we've been using for a number of years. I believe Jen picked it up one day at Sam's and it's certainly served us well. However, it has always had two problems. First, it's a wee bit lacking in the privacy department and secondly, it's cold water only which is fine most of the year but not the best for shaving.
So, one of the entries on my long list of "hope to do one day" projects has always been to build a real outdoor shower enclosure with hot water.
Well, during the "Project from Hell" remodeling ordeal, I replaced the electric water heater in our master bath. Fortunately, it's in a cabinet on an exterior wall so, during the process, I had the plumbers install a couple ball valves and stub out a hot and cold feed to the side yard. Finally, with a bit over a week of vacation to go, I decided to press on with the shower project and the photos that follow will give you an idea of the work involved. |
